We repair them by gentle abrasion. Our equipment first removes deeper scratches, then we switch it into the mode of gentle cleaning. The whole process is finished with an antistatic treatment. The disc then has a mirror like surface which enables the laser beam to read the disk like new.

 

This way can remove almost all mechanical damages on the lower (mirror) surface of the disk. Unfortunately, if the data layer itself is seriously damaged (by scratching of the upper layer), the disc is beyond repair. On the other hand, slight damages to the data layer can be repaired by polishing and the disk usually plays well. We can give you a no charge estimate on whether the disc is worth repairing.

 

It is impossible to repair disks that are bent, cracked and those with damaged data layer.

 

The most common reason for a disk’s poor quality playback is its scratched lower (mirror) side. Scratches and nicks reflect and deflect the laser beam which reads the data track from this side, so it is hard for the disk player „to keep the track“. Play gets stuck as one part of the disk is played repeatedly.

Yes, we repair all kinds of discs, but results with burnt discs are not so good as with original media. With burnt discs you must be prepared to see small smears on the lower side of the disc when you observe the disc at a certain angle under a powerful source of light (e.g. a lamp).

 

Yes, certainly. It is even more convenient for you because of the lower relative cost of postage. But we ship only complete orders. If we have the disks which you order to buy in stock, it is no problem at all. After we repair your discs, we will ship them to you together with your newly bought discs. If any of your ordered items are not in stock, we recommend you to wait till we get them. When we get them, we will let you know by E-mail or phone, at which time you can also send us the discs to be repaired.
